The Gospel Wheel
The Gospel Wheel above tells a wonderful story from the Bible about the true and living God who made the world. Each color of the Gospel Wheel reminds me of part of the story. Would you like to read this wonderful story and learn about the God who created you and loves you very much?
THE GOLD COLOR
What does the color GOLD remind you of? That's right! Something special. Mom's wedding ring, treasure, riches. It also reminds me of God. God is PERFECT, which means He does no wrong. God created you and me! Gold also reminds me of heaven, which is where God lives. The Bible says in Revelation 21:21 that the streets of heaven are paved with gold. Heaven is a wonderful and beautiful place. The most important thing about heaven is that God, who loves you, wants you to be in heaven with Him one day.
John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world..." That means everyone, which includes you and me!
But there is one thing that God will never allow into His heaven...
That one thing is SIN.
THE DARK COLOR (BLACK)
The dark color reminds me of sin. Sin is all the bad stuff you and I do that makes God sad. Telling your mom, "NO!" when she asks you to clean your room, hitting your brother or sister, telling lies...these are all examples of what sin is. You are born with a "want to" to sin. No one has to tell us how to do bad things. Mom and Dad punish us when we are bad. The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Because God will not allow sin into His heaven, this means that because of our sin we are separated from God. God must punish sin. The Bible says in Romans 6:23, "for the wages of sin is death."
God says that sin must be punished by death. But God had a wonderful plan so that you and I don't have to receive the terrible punishment that we deserve for our sins.
THE RED COLOR
The red color reminds me of the blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son. God sent His perfect Son, Jesus, to be born as a baby on earth. Jesus lived to be a young man. During His life on earth, Jesus never did anything wrong. He never sinned. When he became older, he allowed men to take Him, put a crown of thorns on His head and nail him to a wooden cross. Do you know what came out of His hands and feet when they nailed Him to the cross? That's right. Blood. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 9:22 that, "without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness for sin."
Jesus died on the cross so you and I can be forgiven for the bad things that we do. But guess what? Jesus didn't stay dead! 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 says, "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and He was buried, and He arose the third day according to the Scriptures."
Three days later, Jesus rose and walked the earth for 40 days, among family and friends! Then, He went back to heaven to be with His Father. And now, because of what Jesus did for you and I, we can have our sins forgiven!
THE CLEAN COLOR (WHITE)
The clean page reminds me of things that have been made new or clean. You can be made clean from your sin. The Bible says in Psalm 51:7, "wash me, and I will be whiter than snow." Jesus wants to forgive you of all your sins and take them away.
YOU MUST RECEIVE JESUS
John 1:12 says, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on His name."
Receiving Jesus means 3 important things:
1. You must admit to God that you have sinned and that you need Jesus to forgive you.
2. You must believe that Jesus died on the cross giving His blood to pay for your sins and that He rose again on the third day.
3. You must call upon Jesus to forgive you of your sins and come into your life as Savior and Lord of your life. You must be willing to turn from your sins, place your faith in Jesus and live for Him in obedience to His Word, the Bible.
Would you like to receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord now?
Bow your head and pray to God.
You can begin your prayer by saying, "Dear God."
Remember to tell Him the 3 important things:
1. I have sinned; please forgive me.
2. I believe Jesus died for me.
3. I receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord.
Say, "In Jesus name, Amen, when finished.
THE GREEN COLOR
The green color reminds me of flowers, grass, trees and things that grow.
When you receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you have new life so you can know Jesus better.
2 Peter 3:18 says, "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
Did you receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord?
Where is Jesus right now? That's right. He's now living inside you through the Person of the Holy Spirit.
How long will he be with you?
God says in Hebrews 13:5, "I will never leave you or forsake you."
When you sin, what should you do?
1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Doing these four things will help you GROW in your new life as God's child:
1. Go to Church and Sunday School.
2. Read your Bible and pray.
3. Obey God's Word, the Bible.
4. Witness to others about Jesus.
If you have just prayed to God and meant it from your heart then YOU will go to heaven when you die! You only have to receive the Lord Jesus once. Please go and tell your parents, brothers and sisters and friends that you received the Lord Jesus as your Savior and Lord. If they're not sure if they will go to heaven when they die then tell them what you just learned and ask them to pray to God for forgiveness of their sins too!
